Quick installation
On day 1, the installation team of two MDOT and two coring operators had cored and installed 32 units with an average installation time of 11 minutes per unit. When the core bit was removed from the first cored hole, the built up hydrostatic pressure poured from the hole. The gushing water carried surrounding sands into the culvert. The team quickly stopped the soil loss by inserting the weep hole filter. For the remainder of the holes, the core bit was left in the hole until the installation team was ready to quickly insert the filter. This minimized soil loss.
