Installation

High water flow in the culvert barrels at the time of inspection indicates recent, significant precipitation and/or snow melt run-off. Grass snagged in Jet Filter louvered vents indicated even higher water flowing through the culvert in the recent past. Recent snows, melt run off and rains contributed to wet ground conditions.

Observations today in the north and south sidewalls showed water levels retained behind the sidewalls above the filter drains. Water was observed leaching through sidewall and ceiling cracks and construction joints. Maintainable drains were flowing well. Twelve cartridge units were removed, inspected and observations noted. Iron Ochre was present in many of the units and cleaned off in the ones removed. The Iron Ochre was not obstructing drainage. Also, there was some ice build-up but units still draining. The clips on the 2 ½” units resulted in more difficulty removing them verse using the bolts on the 4” units.
